When Rachel Beth Anderson — the founder of styling studio Field to Frame — approached me, her styling studio had a clear point of view but lacked a cohesive way to articulate its services, identity, and value. While their work spanned visuals, design, and storytelling, the studio’s positioning and digital presence hadn’t yet caught up to the depth or rigor of what they were offering.

Our goal was simple: define their service offering, establish a clear visual and verbal identity, and build a site from the ground up that could support growth. The result was a considered, design-forward digital foundation — one that communicates clarity, credibility, and direction, while creating space for future clients, partnerships, and editorial content.

The Challenge

(02)

Field to Frame is a studio specializing in narrative styling for filmmakers and creative professionals. While the quality of their work was strong, their positioning was diffuse: services were not clearly defined, the visual and verbal identity lacked cohesion, and their digital presence did not communicate the scope, rigor, or value of their offering.

They needed a clear point of view: one that articulated what they do, who it’s for, and why it matters — while creating a digital identity that felt credible, thoughtful, and scalable as the studio grew.

strategic Approach

(03)

The work began with strategic clarity. Before design, we focused on definition: shaping a clear service offering, aligning language with intention, and establishing a framework that could support both client acquisition and long-term growth.

From there, we developed a visual and verbal system that felt editorial, confident, and grounded — one that positioned Field to Frame as a studio capable of both strategic thinking and execution, without over-branding or unnecessary noise.

Scope of Work

I led the project end-to-end, spanning strategy, identity, and implementation:

  • Defined and structured Field to Frame’s core service offerings
  • Developed a cohesive verbal identity and positioning language
  • Established a refined visual direction aligned with their values and audience
  • Designed and built the website from scratch
  • Created supporting content systems, including testimonials and a blog structure
  • Implemented an information architecture that made the work easy to understand and navigate
  • Introduced Field to Frame to a new client, supporting early business development

The result is a clear, flexible foundation: one that communicates credibility, supports storytelling, and positions the studio for continued growth and opportunity.

"Working with Shelby was a turning point for my business. What had mostly existed as word of mouth and ideas in my head became something real and tangible - with a clear look, language, and presence that genuinely reflected how I wanted to show up. Shelby didn’t just build a website or create a brand. She guided me through clarifying my ethos in both words and visuals, helping me articulate what I do and why it matters in a way that felt aligned, honest, and compelling to the people I want to work with. The process gave me a foundation I could actually stand on, not just something polished to look at. Beyond her skill and thoughtfulness, Shelby is a joy to work with thanks to her ability to be incredibly communicative, supportive, and deeply invested. Even the password she created for my site has become a daily reminder that my ideas are possible. I’m incredibly grateful for her work and look forward to continuing our collaboration as she helps me expand my thinking and grow this business with clarity and confidence." — Rachel Beth Anderson
